Charting out your own Backup Schedule

A backup schedule is an important aspect in the system for the recovery of data. More conscious and concrete steps are taken towards this end, the farther away you will be from a disaster caused by loss of data. It will be worthwhile to chart out a backup schedule.

Along with the medium and the process of the backup, the schedule to which one must adhere to is also important. If the schedule is not adhered to properly, the entire backup plan can come to nought. First, it is vital to understand what data is being backed up.

The size of the data to be backed up is very important to work out the schedule.

  1. Email messages, project documents and work documents with fairly small or medium data frame can be backed up daily, weekly or monthly.
  2. Large amounts of data comprising emails, project documents and work documents can be backed up weekly or monthly.
  3. Images, audios, mp3s, videos, mpegs having huge amounts of data can be backed up monthly or yearly.
  4. Total backup of all data in the computer can be backed up weekly, monthly or yearly.
