The easiest way to go bust is not to have a data management plan. Keeping the lighter side of the issue aside, it needs to be emphasised that the lack of Data Backup can have grave consequences.
In a survey done by NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) it was found that 50% of business that lost critical data because of a disaster did not have data management plans in place. Most companies that could not access their data for more than a week had to suffer and in some cases lost their business.
The absence of a proper data management or backup system can spell doom quicker than anyone can anticipate. Many companies, which failed to take positive steps to implement the backup system or the document management system to safely organise, secure and archive data files, have nearly shut down in the aftermath of a disaster.
The quicker the data are retrieved the better for the business to spring back to normalcy. Taking a ‘wait and watch’ attitude can be disastrous. This technology offers critical support in the efficiency and productivity of the business.
